Otkritie Strengthens Global DMA Team; Appoints US CEO

Otkritie Strengthens Global DMA Team; Appoints US CEO

Otkritie Capital (‘Otkritie’), the investment banking arm of Otkritie Financial Corporation (‘the Group’), has bolstered its DMA (Direct Market Access) team with three senior hires while strengthening its US operations as it continues to grow the business globally.

The news follows the appointment of Mikhail Sukhobok in May 2012, from MICEX-RTS, to head the firm’s global electronic trading division.

Ben Wood joins Otkritie Securities Limited to head the firm’s International DMA business and will be located in London. Ben was previously the Head of EMEA Sales at Flextrade where he was based for over five years. Prior to that he held a number of senior roles at several brokerages and investment banks, including seven years with US-based Hoenig and Co Ltd, where he became Managing Director. Ben is credited with establishing and heading up the cash equities desk at MIS Equities, developing DMA and commission management services for Tullett Liberty, and leading a soft commissions and electronic sales trading desk servicing fund managers at Commerzbank Securities.

Irina Glazkova has been appointed Head of DMA Sales and Alexander Ospischev is Head of DMA Business Development. Both will be based in Moscow. All three will report directly into Mikhail.

In addition, J.P. Natkin has been promoted to the role of US CEO at Otkritie Inc. and will be based in New York. He joined Otkritie in 2011 from Crédit Agricole where he ran the firm’s emerging market sales desk before serving as Head of Client Services for the Americas. Prior to that J.P. was Head of Sales at URALSIB for seven years during which time he was ranked third globally for both Russia and EMEA sales by Thomson Extel. J.P. previously managed the EMEA equity sales team at ING in New York and helped to launch the US broker-dealer operations for both Troika Dialog and Renaissance Capital.

Igor Vayn, CEO of Otkritie Capital, commented:

By strengthening our team in New York, London and Moscow, we have further demonstrated our goal to remain a market leader in electronic trading and DMA while providing our clients with an unparalleled global service. Otkritie’s DMA business has grown considerably over the past couple of years and has consistently outperformed other offerings in this sector. We are committed to the promotion of ambitious and client-focused employees.”
